Which is best for you, Decorative or Functional drapery?

Drapes and curtains are a beautiful, elegant addition to any space. But there is one very important thing to consider before you buy them! Which style works best for your needs? There are two styles to choose from when it comes to drapery and curtains:  Decorative, or Functional.  Now, what is the difference between these two?

The main differences between these two types of drapery are their look and functionality. Let’s look at some details and main differences:

Decorative Drapery:

Decorative drapery is all about aesthetics

These are the perfect option for you if you want your drapes to be purely decorative, as opposed to drapes that are used for light control and privacy. This is because their main function is to frame your window and to be a statement of the room by adding colour and texture.

Some options to control these drapes are with rings, grommets, or carriers. These are visually beautiful, but clunky to operate.

Functional Drapery:

As the name implies, functional drapery is more about the function than the overall look! If you are looking for drapes that can be easily operated, operable drapery is the best option for you!

These can be made to cover much larger spaces, such as massive windows and patio doors. The focus for these types of drapes is the style of the carrier or the style of the track. These are usually mounted on KS or DS tracks. Both of which have very small profiles, so they disappear into the ceiling, but still allow a smooth operation.
